Basic vs. Comprehensive Maintenance
A basic program can include a set amount of time each visit to address flower beds, hedges, lawns etc. A comprehensive program would be tailored to address the lawns (including fertilizing throughout the year, power raking if required, weed treatment upon request, fertilizing of flower beds annually), mulch supply and spreading each season, irrigation system care (including start up, shut down and any repairs required during the year), hedging as required and any seasonal recommendations specific to your property.
How Often We Visit
Visit frequency changes with the season and the specific plan you have in place. For a comprehensive maintenance plan, we attend:
• Weekly in the Spring (May-July)
• Biweekly in the heat of summer (August/September)
• Weekly in October
• Usually once a month from November-January
• Biweekly February to May
Core Aeration and Lawn Top Dressing
We offer both core aeration and lawn top dressing on request.
Hedge Pruning
We can prune reactively if a plant is obstructing something or causing a problem. Otherwise, we wait until August or September, once the plant is dormant. Pruning earlier, in spring for example, stresses a plant that’s still in its growth cycle, and the shape won’t hold, it’ll grow right back out within weeks to months.
